Manual can put more power to the ground; automatic is more consistent. If you want to road race, get a manual. Drag race, I'd stick to an automatic. Just my opinion based on my experience.

automatic if its gonna be a drag car

manual if its a daily driver thats gonna be made fast...its more fun

funner to drive (bang) throught the gears in a manual..... but an auto with some sticky tires, a converter, and some gas can get pretty nasty....

i switched to a manual fo rmy street car i love it. auto would be more of a drag setup.

A manual is more fun to drive, unless you're stuck in a traffic jam. I'd have gotten the 6spd in my 01, but I got a deal on the auto, so that's what I went with. I just like going through the gears and listening to the exhaust of a M6 car.

but unless you are bracket racing they are still more fun in the 1/4 mile

Until you miss a gear or two and bend pushrods or blow up your rear end on the launch because you can't preload it like you can with an auto. Minor details.

Manuals are STILL more fun, even when you miss an occasional gear. But, if you don't have any driver skill, get an automatic.

exactly. i loved catching autos in the 1/4. they think they have won, and bam drive by them and get the win light. all the while knowing that it is your driving skills that won the race.
