DIFF Noise "HUMMMMMMMMMMM" I hear this humming sound coming from the rear, its there all times, at high speed or at low speeds, even when i go to N and let it coast. I was told that it was one of my bearings, can this be, and can any one sugest me a good tech in the killeen TX. area.

did it just start recently, or has it been there for a while? my gears whined in my 10 bolt since i got it, usually while cruising between 50 and 70. the night that the pinion blew, they started HOWLING like crazy at all speeds, and that was the end of the 10 bolt.
you could pull your cover, inspect the gears, and change to some heavier fluid (85w-140) to maby help some. bearings, gears, etc. can all be the culprit. there is a magnet inside the cover that will attract lots of metal if somthing is seriously toast. a fluid change definatly isnt going to HURT things.
what year car is it? does it have the auburn posi from SLP?
not sure where killeen tx is, but i've heard very good things from pyle bro's in baytown.
