paypal scam An important FYI,
I know theres alot of paypal users in here so check this out. There is a new round of Paypal email spoof scams going about.. looks something like this..
This type of spoof will lead you to a fake website where of course you will be required to login thus giving out your password to the bad guys..
A clear sign to know such a spoof is first seein where the included links point to without acutally clicking on them. In thunderbird simply place your mouse cursor over the hyperlink.. in this instance, doing so you would quickly see the actual link is NOT the one in bold. or the link will be something close like www.paypalll.net etc.. (note you wont see the bad link here in the forums) Theres also something like this going around for your ebay account. watch out!

Had the ebay one a short while back - good advice on the 'hover' tip - that's how I found mine too. Once again, another thumbs-up for FireFox, and another arguement for not using Microsoft's automatic virus installer (I mean Internet Explorer).

I got something similar in my e-mail not too long ago. I was stupid enough to click on it but after the site asked me for my SS # I logged out and quickly changed my password on a different browser. I called PayPal and they said that any e-mail that is addressed to DEAR PAYPAL CUSTOMER or such should quickly be deleted and reported to PAYPAL. If PAYPAL ever contacts you it will be addressed to your nanme. Just be careful guys and gals.

thats genious, too bad im not a crook, lol. It happened to me too but paypal caught it and audited my account and some of my customers lost their money on pc parts since it was stolen so i lost business and my account, damn scammers!
My g.f. fell for this crap and her cards ended up getting charged up. Paypal is still working on the issue after about a year and she has not been able to use paypal since.

there is another one i recieved a while back through email
it said something close to:
an amount of (so and so money, usually in the thousands) has been added to your paypal account, to accept this money please go to link below.
i new it was a scam the minute i recieved it since i hadnt done any transaction lately.
