QUick Question for Austinittes What is the sales tax out your way? Somene told Texas didn't have any sales tax. I will probably be moving out to Round Rock this summer.

High property tax as well from what I can tell. On the plus size, I can get a 3,500 sz ft home with a pool, hottub and hard wood floors for $250,000. That's 1/2 of the price for my 1800 sq ft home in Vacaville.

We have smog tests in Texas now. You'll need cats. No state income tax, but the state sales tax is 6.25% and the local sales tax is an extra 2.0%. Austin is a totally cool area. I don't remember much though, because I spent the better part of my time there in a drunken haze.

austin is a very nice city, (i can't say much on the college there
) but this isn't a/b state rivalries. Other than that, its seems like the good choice, great state, great city, bigger house, great LS1 scene, whats not to like.
