I'm an inspector but Texas DPS has gotten very strict here in S. Texas and everything is being done by the book. No exceptions. They closed at least ten inspection stations here in Brownsville about two weeks ago in a sting to crack down on inspection stations that were overcharging, not properly inspecting vehicles, etc. Good luck with getting a new inspection specially with something that is so obviously illegal as TDs that dump before the axle.

thanks a lot Chris, my next question. if i were to run cats and rear or side exit exhaust with my trex cam would that raise the eyebrow of an inspector? or will they just look to see the cats and be ok with it

They're checking for presence and if the cat/exhaust is leaking. The exhaust also has to exit from the cabin, so that means the sides or rear on an F-body. They also want to make sure the tips arn't bent up or anything.

So far as I know your car can thump like a heart beat, but so long as it has all the safety stuff in order, a muffler, all emissions equipment visable/hooked up, and beats the ASM/OBD; then the car is gonna pass.
