radar problem (k band)

radar problem (k band) I should have knocked on wood after I told how much I loved my cobra detector on some post...
recently the voice alert feature stoped working, (audio didnt work) so I took it back to best buy to exchange it ( I got the warranty plan). I got my new unit and left and after I plugged it in I started getting a K band alert. I drove home and the k band would never go off for more than 30 secs. I was getting really pissed off at the constant beeping. I drove around to different areas (West Oaks mall area) and when I went home and was in my garage I turned the engine off and put my hand over the front sensor, and the k band still kept going off!
So today I went to best buy again and exchanged it again, and guess what, same exact thing! constant 1-2 strength k band.
My old detector never did this (rarely got k band, mostly Ka w/ cops)
Is there some reason there is a constant K band in the air or are the 2 new radar detectors defective or what???
I was about to rip the thing off my windshield and throw it on the ground and run over it.
