possible newcomer There is a very good chance that I'm going to be moving to the DFW area. most likley areas are south or east FW or western arlington, but i'm not ruling out being closer to dallas
I will of course be bringing my 01 Firehawk with me.
I just had a few questions to help me prepare...
1) what oil weight are most people using? I know a lot of people are recommending GC 0w-30, and M1 5w-30, but does having thinner oil have a negative impact in the hotter climate (i'm living in MA right now)
2) what is the TX state inspection like? I'm mostly concerned about the emissions requirements because I'm planning on doing LT headers soon, and need to know if I'd need cats or not.
3) any recommendations as to speed shops in the area (where i could get stuff installed and have engine tuning done)
any advice would be appreciated

there's a visual, but you can find places that are friendly to your cause.
i run 5w30 for most oils, or 0w30 GC if I can find it.
FASTech is good, I've heard Simple Quick Racing is decent too, RPM does a lot of local's work as well. none are sponsors right now so I can't give you contact info. just do a web search and you should find 'em!!

1) i use 5w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer, fully synthetic Mobil 1, of course.
2) you can probably find some little shop in a small, po-dunk town outside the D/FW area and just slip them an extra Jackson and be done with it....
