VIN does not indicate WS6, Firehawk or SS. Only the door decal will prove that. The VIN only identifies coupe vs convertible, V6 vs V8, and Firebird vs Camaro. It lists them as a Formula or a Z28. Even VINs won't identify a Trans Am, it lists them as a Formula.

Im not surprised something like this has happened. I was expecting a few people to start getting burned in the near future as people start to sell fake WS6 and SS models. I'm afraid that this is the first in what will be MANY cases to come, and this will probably drive up the value of the real SS's and WS6's.

Right, because the cars are sent to SLP for modification as a TA/Z28. Their is when they will get the actual build number as being a certified WS6/SS.

And that also makes it looks like its had front end damage.

Reason enough why you should check out a car before you buy it.

Not always. Aftermarket hoods can fit funny sometimes. Lisa's red T/A that we sold (as a WS6 clone ) did the same thing. The aftermarket hood was snug on one headlight more than the other.

If you want to take action you need to sue him for fraudulent misrepresentation.

Did you think to run like a carfax report to see if anything came up. Especially with a car you have never seen in person???
