After our discussions the last couple of days I think we need an etiquette lesson

You need to understand that when a sponsor on this board goes out of his way to help you that shop should be the first to provide you with service. Donot go back on this board and ask for references of other shops after costing the first shop to spend money to help you. That will cause NO SHOPS to help.

Second thing when you ask for a price on a part have all your criteria for this part up front. Dont ask the price then change the criteria and ask for another price. DO the research yourself.

Third is EVERYONE HAS TO PAY SALES TAX this is America.

Fourth You of all people on this board have no right to ask for discounts when you try to sell your stock USED parts for NEW prices.

First off, I dont understand why you have to make this public. We've been contacting each other through private messages because I didn't want to call you because I know you're very busy and the last time and only time I spoke with you on the phone, you didn't seem like you wanted to help me and were itching to get off the phone. I didn't realize asking you about a Trans-King transmission was going to turn into a discussion, muchless an entire thread to me. You were the first to pop off and get frustrated when I did nothing. Again, I explained myself to you and where I stood in all of this, but after about 3 of your replies, you stopped. I've been waiting on you to get back with me, but nothing yet, but I didnt expect you to come on the board and post it publicly. Anyhow, I dont understand why youre getting all bent out of shape about this anyway. I've taken your advice in the past and I would again. If I didnt think you knew anything, I wouldnt ask for your help. I stated that I would be coming your way when the funds become available to do various work on it and just because a friend of mine recommends me to someone else and I ask for feedback on him, you assume that I've canceled you out and I'm going with another guy. Everything that I'm explaining here in this post I've told you in a PM. When did you spend money on me? The only thing you did was take a few minutes out of your time to call Moser which I had no part in, but I thanked you for it. I asked where I could get my rear end narrowed and you suggested yourself. I never asked you to go off and get prices for me. Dont think that Im inconsiderate and dont appreciate it, just dont turn it around on me and make it look like I asked you to do all these things for me, then turn around and go off and have work done elsewhere. I called Strange because I didnt have all the info I needed and it was a good thing because they told me I wouldnt be able to cut my axles 3 inches because there are only 3 inches of splines. Well I asked you how much it would cost me to get a set of custom axles from Strange and you never responded. Regardless where I got the axles, I told you that I would come your way.

I dont understand what youre referring to in your 2nd paragraph. When we first started PMing each other, I asked you how much it would run me for a fully built TH350 with all the goodies. Well you gave me a price, told me what was in it, and then I asked if it was Trans-King's full out TH350 and then you said you would have to get back with me on a price. Well from the beginning, I stated that I wanted the top of the line, so I didnt change my mind, I knew exactly what I wanted. There were a few parts and brands that I had in mind, so I asked you what was in the tranny to see if they were the same. They were according to you, but after a conversation with Gilbert (Trans-King), he told me the parts were in it and they were different from what you told me.

About the 3rd paragraph, I simply asked for a tax cut because I got it last time with my previous tranny. I wasnt demanding anything, I was just asking since it couldnt hurt to ask.

Lastly, I never asked you for a discount. I asked how much you charged for an all out TH350 and if it was any different than if I went directly through Trans-King, nothing more, nothing less. What does my parts have to do with this anyway. Anyhow, if you had a issue with me or needed to give me some insight, then you should of continued to PM me because this isnt for everyone to read. If you didnt feel like typing, then I would of been glad to give you my number. I just dont see why youre getting all bent out of shape just because I asked about another's work and if anyone has had any experience with them. Believe me, getting upset about that because you feel threatened that I may not come to you and could lose my business, then to come and spill this thread for everyone to see is not going to earn my business.

Well if he didnt mind, then this thread wouldnt exist. I'm sure he has his own perspective on this, but the way I see it, he gave me advice in the past and I took it even though I asked about it on the board. There's nothing wrong with having more than one person offer help. I personally would rather have 10 people tell me the same thing rather than 1 because I feel more comfortable about what I'm buying, what I'm performing, etc. Anyhow, I took his advice, so I dont know what else to say about the past. Now recently, I asked in this section where I could get my rear end narrowed. Well he replied and suggested himself. I asked him questions, he replied, etc. and I told him I would come his way when the funds became available. Well from what he says, he spent money and time doing research, making calls, etc. for me. I never asked him to go off and do all that, but that doesnt mean that I dont appreciate it. He gave me some info pertaining the parts I'm going to need etc., but there was still info I was lacking, so rather then going back and forth with posting, I just made it easier on myself and called Strange. Well anyhow, a friend of mine contacted me privately and told me about another guy. So I asked about him in this section so that I could get some feedback on him. There's nothing wrong with that. So I guess MADMAN felt like he was going to lose my business and got offended because I asked about someone else. I was simply getting feedback, it didnt state that I was going to him and the hell with MADMAN. I had intentions on taking my car to him when the time, money, and parts came around. Well I tried to explain this all to him in a private message since we had been talking for the past few days and then after about the 3rd replied, he stopped replying. Well I waited and waited for him to respond, but nothing. I didnt expect to get on here and there be a thread for me. If he had a problem with me, then it could of been handled and approached in the correct manner, but going public with it I find...I dunno even what to call it. Anyhow, I think posting it for everyone to read wasnt the solution and certainly not the way to resolve the matter.

Facts and opinions aside, this should have been handled in a MUCH more professional manner.

If you've got a problem with a customer you should address the problem with the customer in person, on the phone, or if need by, through a PRIVATE message.

We all know MADMAN doesn't NEED anybodies business. So why not just tell the customer that these are the prices, they are non-negotiable, and they are unhappy with that, they can find another shop. Is that really so difficult?

Amen to that. This really isnt even about the tranny, its about previous help that MADMAN offered me, but because I asked for help on the board as well, he probably assumed that I didn't take his help. Then the rear end narrowing issue also added to this.

There was no negotiation involved when I asked about the tranny. Price and parts within is all I was concerned about. Whether he needs my business or not, its still no way for this to be handled nor a way to treat a customer. I dont expect him to kiss my ***, but at least treat me like you would want to earn my business.

Jeremy, I've heard from several site sponsors that you are a pain in the *** to deal with. They have told us a few times that you are the type that calls them and wastes their time asking stupid questions over and over, and never taking any advice that is offered. I'm not sure if you realize this, but TIME = MONEY when it comes to a business that is funded by labor income. You yapping on the phone for an hour costs someone like Madman about $150 or so, just guessing at his overhead.

I think he got mad with you when you started playing his distributors and other shops against him. Quit being such a cheap bastard.

OH yeah, and don't PM me or I'll ban you. Sucks I have to tell you that each time, but if I didn't you would damn sure PM me some long *** crybaby excuse.

Tony
