100 octane in D/FW???

100 octane in D/FW??? a guy i know down here told me that there are places in dallas that you can get 100 octane at the pump. was just curious if this was true; and if so, where?

My advice is - don't use Avgas in your automotive applications. I work for ChevronTexaco in the Global Aviation group and I know the testing that's done for fuels. Use Sunoco's GT-100 Unleaded. It's rated at 100 octane and legal for the street. You can get at the race track.

so whats the highest that you can find at a normal station in DFW? anything better than 93?

That was VP Superfuels on 35 just north of 635. When I lived in Big D, I used to get a little on Friday sometimes for the weekend. I would get the 100 octane that was unleaded. It was pretty high even back in the mid-90's - probably be about $4.50 a gallon now as crazy as gas prices are! They sold up to 110 octane back then as well. Yeah, it is too bad to hear that they are gone from there now.
