then I decided I don't really need one, put the panels back on, went inside and had a beer.
If I ever meet the engineer who designed that part, I'm going to shove a glass rod up his urethra, then kick him very hard in the groin.

I broke 3 of the damn things in 7 months....only paid for one...just exchanged the broken ones out at the local dealer. I gave up on mine cause they kept breaking??? They are not too hard to put in...once you get the hang of it, but since mine didnt last...I just didnt see the point. After looking at it again....I think that it's going to be harder to try and explain than it would be to put it in 
Take the master cyl rod off of the pedal, put the "U" shaped center ( of the spring) into the slot on the pedal and one side of the spring into the pedal box....then it's just a matter of having the hand strength to squeeze the other side of the spring "in" toward the pedal and align it with the hole on the pedal box while at the same time not letting the "U" come out of the slot on he pedal. Once you get that, then you can move the pedal around to the M/C rod then putting that retaining clip back on.
Make sure that that little fkcin clip (that holds the M/C rod on the peg of the pedal) gets on there good....2 weeks after i replaced one of those springs, my pedal made a wierd noise then started swinging back and forth (not as funny then as it is now).... had to drive for 3 1/2 miles in rush hour San Diego traffic in a construction zone until i could find a place to pull over and put that damn thing back on.....then i couldnt find the little bitch.
