It is very common for them to come after dark. Yes the power company is loud, but small phone and cable companies are not. They do have some lights though.

yes I'm saying if they do come after dark then it's going to be the electric company and there most of the time not going to come onto your property to fix something that's fucked up down the street. and those lights they have on there trucks are bright as hell

I think the law used to state they had to be in your house and you had to feel threatend. Someone else will probably have a better answer than me. As far as I am concerned you should be able to protect your property with lethal force if it is being taken from you.

there is a law that allows a person to protect themselves against an intruder with deadly force. that law is called the " MAKE MY DAY " law. i know this for a fact because my x-brother in law was shot and killed when he entered a supposably friends house at 2 a.m. and got shot- the owner of the house should give 1 warning before shooting , after that warning, anything goes. anyway , the perp. got killed and the shooter was'nt arrested

It is all about symantics....

You did NOT shoot to Kill....!
You shot to make him stop, then you stopped! NEVER use the "K" word... It will Kill you in court!

Also, darkness is better...! "if" it is dark outside/inside you were in fear for your life and you could not tell whether or not the guy had a weapon.

You ARE justified by law!! Protecting your property is your right!

It is all how you word it...

Also.. the old myth that you have to wait til they are in your home to shoot them is absolutely incorrect!

If they have broken into your house/car, burglarized them then they have committed a "class A" misdemeanor... ( felony)

You are the "good guy"... He is the dirt bag!

Like the other guy said...

It is your constitutional right to defend yourself and property.. However.. the law also protects that jackass..!

You have to make every attempt to use the "least amount of force necessary" to control the situation.

Hell, you are justified shooting him in the back as he is fleeing.. but how will a grand jury view that..?

You see....

Best case scenerio... call 911.... set the phone down.. & yell to the guy to get out... you have a gun & will shoot....& that you have called the police...
This way in court... it will be documented that you made the attempt ( which by TX law you do not have to do) to give the perp an opportunity to leave..

Does that answer your question? Symantics.. my friend!
Oh, and NEVER shoot through a door...! that could be your kid sister coming in...

That's the long skinny of it... Hope it helps..

Regards....
