Man, I bet that's frustrating as hell. Traffic really doesn't bother me unless I'm running late.

said on the weather channel someone has been in traffic for 10 hours and only gone 50 miles.....can you see all these cars running out of gas on the highway?

This is why they stagger the EVAC plan, but all the idiots wait until the last minute to leave and the staggered plan is useless

I sent my son to San Marcos with his father. They called at 2:15AM and they were 2 exits away from our house. They didn't get here until 5:30AM. If you haven't left yet, then you should probably just stay put.

Yeah, my aunt just called. They're trying to leave from Deer Park.

Took them 8 hours to go 24 miles. At this rate, I doubt they'll make it out of Houston by the time the hurricane hits.

I think it is best to ride it out now if you have not already left.

Most of my family that was headed up here decided to turn around and go back. They're not going back to their houses, but to other family members houses on the NW side of Houston.

Yah if u haven't left yet stay put....its chaos on the roads....there are cars running out of gas all over the place....and gas stations are running out of gas too.....besides apparently the storm is leaning more towards the far east border of texas so we shouldn't be hit as hard as we had feared. Good luck with whatever you guys do!

I agree with everyone else who says, stay put if you havent already left. Im watching channel 2 and the traffic is so horrible. YES, the hurricane track has shifted towards the Beaumont area but not definite yet where land fall where be.

Well, we packed up the bare essentials and headed out @ 3:15 AM to go to Sherman TX which is about an hour north of Dallas. We arrived @ 2:15 PM. 11 hours and I think we did pretty good. 290 was a nightmare, HWY 6 North was fine until Hearne and 35 wasn't too bad. We ended up taking 35E north to 75 through downtown Dallas and it was open through Dallas. We stopped twice; once in Bryan and again in Italy. Nicest DQ ever in Italy Elena, our 9 1/2 month old made it through this crap like a trooper too.

I have already had my nap and it may be time to go for a ride on the father-in-;aws motorcycle.

Take care everybody and be smart. Yes, if you haven't left yet....stay put.

My cousin just got here. They left at 11p last night. They said they were driving on the median in some places, on the shoulder, the service road... whatever was vacant.

Just him and his friend, they're young though.. like 17.

I say all of this....if you havnt left already....it's probly a little to late to

Good luck guys....see ya in a couple of days.
