Closing cause they can make more money selling the land. Sad to see it go I used to go a couple of times every year casue it was close etc... some rides will move to other parks that Six Flags owns.

yeah, it's kinda sad to see it go, cause when i was a kid, we would always get season passes and go several times throughout the summer.

but i agree, the last time i went, it was a shadow of its former self, they had the metal detectors up, and they stopped running the tram like they used to have, and a bunch of the rides were shut down and stuff.

but i guess i'd rather see them close it than see it struggle in the ghetto-ish atmosphere that it's fallen into as of the past few years.....i can still go to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington if i wanna go to a theme park, even though it does mean a slightly longer drive to go....i guess that's one advantage to living nearly halfway between Houston & Dallas......

I've heard that anyone trying to go for one last time has been met with the worst crowd, longest lines, and bad memories.

They will have the rides until the end of frightfest but after that we will have to travel for a six flags park. That really sucks. They should of thought on how to get those ghetto people out of there and they probably would of had more people at their park!!! I didnt want to go cause I didnt want to go and see a fight or some dumbass take off with my gal's purse or something. They could of done something, but oh well.

This is just another example of the quick dollar destroying the longevity of the business. If Astroworld had never sold the season passes for such a low price I believe the demographic of returning customer would have been of a much higher quality. If low income thugs have nothing to do all summer and you give them a place to go every day for the low price of $45 per season they will eventually ruin your business. I for one would never spend over $100 to take my wife and child into what I consider a war zone and threat to our well being and that of our society.

I would be sad if it were still a nice place for families to spend some quality time, but considering the clientel, I say good riddens.
