Its NOT about having a roof open or closed. Its about the fact that we play about 80% of our regular season games with the roof closed (yes, even when the weather is nice), and we have a higher winning percentage with the roof closed. The home players also prefer the roof closed, since that is what they are used to when at home. Thats HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE. You know how baseball players are superstitious, and changes to the HOME FIELD can distract you.

What if you went home tonight, and the roof of your house was missing. Would you feel at home? Would it be the same level of comfort as the day before, when you had a roof? Probably not. That makes it a distraction.

Can that simple thing cause a win/loss? Answer that yourself, do the winning teams have better home or away game records?

No, the open roof didn't cause the Astros to lose, but it also didn't help them win. They choked in the extra innings. But, at least give us some credit here and understand what home field advantage is.
Thanks for saving me some typing. I'm retiring from this thread now.

All I can say is Astacio has about 4.5 million people hating him right now. He gave up a homer to a nobody, and walked someone home. In the 14th inning. Unbelievable.

True, we hate that Easy-E wannabe now, but I'll bet Chicago named him as their MVP last night

him getting booed is BS, kids a rookie and Garner new what was coming up. Asmus said that pitch was a ball low & outside and Blum put a great swing on it. Wandy should have been in but he must be the starter for game 5 if it happens. Offense had plenty off chances to close the game out before it got that far. feel sorry for him

originally they wanted it so when the temp is 80 or below they could have it open, everyone thought it would be great plus you can have a grass field with a retractable roof.

Houston heat and humidity is horrible from march to just last week and well they just happen to play better with the roof closed. so hell, if they are that much better then roll with it. they never intended to be closed so often when built. also anytime the temp is below 65 it's consider a winter storm and i can bet you the people in the upper deck were misserable last night and will be tonight. makes for a great baseball experience

most games during the summer it's open the last couple of innings.

where are the Astros fans at, those who haven't given up and are still standing behind your boys? We have made it this far, lets not give up, I admit 4 games in a row is pretty hard, but not impossible. Let the Astros know that you haven't given up on them, and maybe they will have the confidence, when I used to play sports, and for those of you who have been on any sports teams, u know its confidence that carries you through the game. oh yeah, to the whitsox fans reading this:

I think you mean 3 games in a row. If it were 4 games in a row that we lost, then yes, it would be impossible.

Sure, ANYTHING is possible, but look at it this way, would you go to vegas and put your money on the Stros winning the series? I HOPE they win, but realistically, I know it cant happen.
