xbox 360 vs. ps3?

just depends on what you want really. playstation is doing to the xbox what the first xbox did to PS2. Xbox 360 specs were released before PS3 specs so they are making sure that the PS3 is better. i still might get both 
I got both the xbox and PS2, I play the Xbox 99% of the time. I'm not sure if on these new systems they got out. Im sure I will get the xbox 360, just because I like Halo 2 so much.

I'm pretty sure the two systems will be very similar but I'd go with the xbox. The online play is excellent and not to mention the fact that its american. Sadly the Japanese do not buy the xboxes only because they are american owned

MS is deliberatley only letting a small trickle of them out so stores will always "sell out" and they're effectivley trying to create a "free media buzz" with this tactic ...

The Xbox 360 was released purposely before ps3. Bill gates stated that the day the ps3 launches, Halo 3 will also launch. He figured that the 360 is in a league of its own and that those people that are unsure of buying the 360 at that time, will get one. Halo 3 will pick up where halo 2 left off. It wont be a massive change from halo 2.

Considering there are persistent rumors that not only is PS3 going to be late but it's much harder to develop for and will rely on game manufacturers for online support, XBox360 is going to be THE console to own for at least the next year. Some rumors put the US launch of PS3 into 2007. PS3 will launch in Japan first (not world-wide like the 360). Nintendo Revolution won't have high definition support, but the new controller could be very interesting.
I have seen the games in development for the 360. I will definitely own the 360. To get that level of power on your PC today would cost at least a couple thousand dollars.
And, yes, Oblivion will be my killer app, too, though I may be running the PC version. I'm already running Quake 4 and F.E.A.R. and am anxiously awaiting Half-Life 2: Aftermath. I must have keyboard and mouse for first-person gaming. I've heard rumors that the 360 may adopt keyboard + mouse in the future. That would be excellent if they did.

Yeah playstation might have more games and all but they were alot of them that were just crap, the only reason i kept my PS2 was just for a handfull of games, Including Gran tourismo 3 % 4. Those were the only really good games on the system. I liked the fact that Xbox gave me the option to play my own music during a racing game. I would much rather play rainbow six on xbox due to shorter load times. I head that the PS3 whould have a good video card but the processor would not hold it. SO load times should be a bit longer than the 360. Plus the 360 if you have HD TV then most of the games are going to presented in 720. But do your research you can go to www.ign.com that is a good site to do some research.
