So you are suggesting 4.10s even after you have proved they arent good for what he wants. Nice.

i had 3.73 in my 10 bolt when it blew up. now i have 410's in my ford rear end and i love them, srry that wasnt very clear. he is going with a strange 12 bolt so he doesnt have to worry about breaking it like the damn 10 bolt.

Actually I have 4.10's in a 10 bolt with several street races and six 11 second passes at the track. with the 4.10's i am actually in my powerband faster which gives me an upper hand. now you do have to shift faster but you will get you used to that quick. you have to. I did a roll race before and after from 60 with the same car and didnt lose any top end up to 130mph just had to shift more. after that i dont know.
so 4.10's all the way

4.10's = Going into 5th at 118mph or so. Sucks big time, so forget about highway runs.

3.73's = If you plan for anything faster then heads/cam or more.

Peace,
Craig.

i normally peg 4th out around 125ish at 6700RPMS.

but i dont like to run past that MPH. If i cant beat someone from 50-120, i wont beat them past 120+.

but i cant remember the last time i got a descent race anyways.

You should be able to run up around 125mph in 4th with 4.10's
unless you like to shift at 5.8K-6K rpms..

Depends on what tire size you are running. I KNOW that I ran out of gear with 4.10's, 6,600rpm rev limiter with heads/cam at the track. You can even look here where I bounced of the rev limiter for at least 100ft and I trapped 119mph on street tires:

When I had 26" E/T Streets did I barely get through.

Again, depends on what tire size we are talking about here. With the stock tire height of 25.5" you will shift around 118-120mph.

Peace,
Craig.

stock size tire and 4.10's puts 4th at 125 @ 6700rpm. I trapped 119 with no problems.

I'm no expert, does gearing in the transmission affect it much?

Default 3.90's

I am getting a 12 bolt soon, and I was thinking about going with 373's or 410's. Most people said to go with 410's. What about 390's? Do you think that is a good choice with a M6 F-body? I have heard that 390's whine bad, but I have also heard that it may have something to do with the person that sets them up ( something about the back-lash ) I really don't know. I wanted to go with 390's so I could stay in the gears a little longer and I wouldn't have to shift as much. Does anyone have any advice on any of these things.
