Yeah you can get limo on the back. I had limo 5% all the way around and a 6" limo eyebrow, but I got a ticket. I think it all depends on the area you live in. I got busted on the highway.

I was recently stopped by a State Trooper (for speeding). He put a meter on my window that showed them to be at 7%. He gave me a warning for it. He told me the legal limit is 25% and they start giving tickets for anything under 20%. A state inspection place also said that windows could not be any darker than 20%.

So far I haven't had any problems running an all black car with dark windows. My inspection sticker is up in February. I'm going to pull the tint off the windows (it's peeling and was on the car when I bought it), get the car inspected, and get it retinted at 5%.

Actually, it's ~35% on the film side in order for their light meter to register a "net" of 25 (not sure what that really means). And thats only for the side windows on pass. cars. The back glass has no limit. Trucks and vans only have to be legal on the two front doors.

A 25% film would meter at about a 13-16.
Hope that helps.

For inspection purposes you can be as dark as 18%. State allowed is 20% +/- 2%. Although most cities say no darker than 25%. It makes no sense.

So.. That being the case. My side windows are 10%, back is 5%. Been pulled over once, but just got a warning.

I had my windows down when I got pulled over. It was on a Thanksgiving Day. He said he pulled me over out of suspicion because it was 'too cold' to have my windows down. I drive with my windows down all the time.

Wow that is hard to believe, why would you tint your windshield? do you not drive at night? Its actually a wierd law in Texas 20% +/- 2% for inspection but you can get ticketed for anything under 25%

I was driving home one night and I had just got my 5% on the sides maybe 2 weeks prior and when he walked up I just rolled both my windows down, and I got a warning for "speeding or 65"

I looked it up once and i believe it was 20% for passenger windows, nothing beyond the tint mark on the windshield, and the rear window can be whatever you want.

I'm going to be doing my truck with 20% windows and a 5% rear window. Oddly enough i don't have a tint line on my windshield, so i might get that done at 10% or so.

It's Not Hard To Believe If You See My Car, I Tinted The Windshield So People Can't See Who Im With. Here Is The Answer To The Tint Question For State Inspection You Need Minimum 20% And For A State Trooper Minimum 25% So Even If You Pass Inspection With 20% It Is Still Illegal For State Trooper, And He Can Give You A Ticket (i Was A State Inspector)
