Was there any doubt that Liddell would punish Couture??? Couture beat him a long time ago, but Liddell has improved much since then...

I agree that Couture shouldn't have gone toe to toe with those hammerfists. He would have had a much better chance to keep shooting on him or lock him up. All it took was one punch. Has anyone seen the tattoo show"Ink", Liddell was in a tat parlor and it showed one of the employees asking him to hit him in the arm. Man was that a mistake, Liddell punched him in the arm and laid him out.

If you get a chance watch the replay. Flooring gave way under his feet (fabric on top of mat slid) and made Randy loose some of his balance. Don't think this mattered much as his "game plan" sucked anyway! Should have done what he does best...ground and pound!

Point is you need to educate yourself before you make your posts as was proved to you in your last post...nobody put Randy into retirement, except for Randy...Who's to say he'll stay "retired" as many say they do and don't...I'm sure he's learned "again" not to go toe to toe with Lidell but rather put him on his *** where he will hurt him...badly!

So you are telling me if Randy win's this fight he retires?

Chuck, by way of knocking him out in two of his last three fights, basically put in into retirement. He wins Sat night he will defend his title against Babalu in the coming months but since he lost again, he mad the correct decision to hang them up.

It was a decent fight (couldv'e been better). I like both fighters but I think Randy was being way too patient in trying to get Chuck on the ground where Randy excels, and while he was being overly patient Chuck was landing lots of good head shots (along with breaking Randy's nose). Also, the slip up by Randy. I was surprised that he tried to land a punch while off balance instead of backing out and regaining his composure, he's normally a pretty smart fighter but I guess everyone makes mistakes. Would have been interesting to see how long Randy wouldv'e continued to fight in UFC if he'd won the title.

Has anyone read/heard anything more about the fighter that needed a blood transfusion after his fight. I believe it was two fights before the Liddell/Couture. The guy had a gash above his eye and was bleeding profusely but continued to fight anyway (he lost).

The Matt Hughes vs. Hoyce Gracie fight is going to be a good one hopefully. I haven't read/heard how much Gracie has been training since he retired, but maybe he'll be in good enough condition to give Hughes a challenge. Hughes is one of the few fighters I would say is great all round fighter (ground&pound, toe-to-toe, etc.). Should be interesting.

Matt Hughes vs. Hoyce Gracie are you serious? don't get me wrong Hoyce Gracie was good in the first few UFC's but damn that guy is going to get killed in the ring with Matt.

That's pretty much what I'm betting on, but hell, if Gracie has stayed in shape since his retirement he at least has a shot at getting past the first round . He was a good fighter in his day, but I agree with you, Matt Hughes is in a league of his own in his weight class.

That was Frank Mir with the gash...I didn't hear anything about him needing a transfusion though.

Gracie is going to get destroyed by Matt too.
