Move to Cypress, TX (NW side of Houston off 290) and go to A&M. Your still in the Houston metro area, but very close to college station.

I just moved here a year ago from the Central Coast, Santa Maria about 1 hour above Santa Barbara.

The weather doesn't bother me. I look at this way its going to be HOT and STICKY deal with it.

Being that you are coming from SF you may not have as much of a shock as I did. It seems like every night I turn on the news some one has been murdered, I have never seen so many inpatient and inconsiderate drivers in my life and signs everyplace for everything WHAT IS UP WITH GUARD RAIL DAMAGE its not like the sign is there so I am going to think well I better not hit this guard rail - you don’t choose to hit a guard rail it just happens so what is the sign good for?

Ok so those are some of the bad but there is good...The reason we moved out here was to find work and to buy a house and my wife and I have both found jobs making more then what we made in Cali and are currently in the next week or so buying a BRAND NEW not even built so I get to make it the way I want it 1700sf house for $150k. The house we left was I think 1500sf and sold for $350k(we were just renting that’s why we left Cali). Also you can find anything you want within minutes.

And before you leave go down to the nice blue beach with the pretty waves and take a good long look because its just not the same here.

Could not possibly agree more. I live in Cypress too, fantastic area. I'm actually trying to transfer into A&M right now for next year (going out of state was a terrible idea on my part.)
