Default Landmark Tower Implosion in Fort Worth

this was pretty sweet! I saw it the night before they did it, and had an invite to go and watch from the bank 1 tower....but it was at 7AM after St. Patty's.....like I was coherent! Anyway here is the fotage!

Looked pretty scary for all the precautions they were taking. Looks like they let a boy scout pull the trigger. That would be instant wood!

that's freaking awesome....it kinda brings back memories of 9-11 though. However it's very impressive the way that they make it fall without messing up any of the surroundings.

Yeah it is, and some of those buildings around it are within skipping distance. It was quite the feat.

Ever wonder why we all cheer when a building is imploded but never do anything when they are built ? That was pretty awesome though.

my buddy worked on that building when they were getting it ready to blow up, he worked on both of the XTO buildings adjascent to that old Fort Worth Club building. pretty cool thing to see.

All I can say is it was crazy. I was standing on the street below were those people were looking out of the parking garage. The video is great but to get the whole feel of it you just had to be there.

was this the one that got owned pretty badly in that tornado a while back or is that one still standing? is something giong back up to replace it? link to where i can read up on it?

this is the building adjacent to the Bank 1 tower which was ravaged in 2000. It is now a nice condo.

It was almost like one continuous shake. I have been around explosions before but this was a totally different sensation. Not only did you feel the concusion in your chest but your whole body shook.

they turned bank one into a condo? I know they turned my dads old shop by The Parthanon (right under that billboard right by the trinity river bridge) into some apartments across the street from Radio Shack (where the projects used to be)

I work for that Radioshack. And yeah, they are right there next to the parking lot of the old Tandy Center. I remember when it was a shop too.

yeah that was my dads shop I used to work there every summer and break we had in school, thats where I got my education! "the automotive place"
