While I don't necessarily agree with all of Bono's views and attention whoring on politics, U2 is still a damn good band. I saw their current tour here in Houston at the Toyota Center in November, and as a long-time U2 fan and concert goer, it ranked up there as one of the best concerts I had seen from them.
Sorry, but I've got no interest in signing that petition.

Unfortunately, there a more over rated bands than U2. Bono really doesn't ***** politics as much as most people think, he doesn't go after hot button topics like abortion or anything like that. His main focus is on Africa. And trying to get anyone and everyone to buy into the cause of helping Africa.
U2 is probably one of the most influential bands in the last 20 years. yes you have bands like Nirvana or STP that set stage the to what alternative music of today would be. or bands like the Ramones that set the stage for modern punk, that has morphed into pop/punk. But they as people influenced music and how music was shaped. U2 did more, they helped shaped alot of the bands of today, and are probably one of the smarter outspoken bands today, unlike Kanye West, U2 actually has an intelectual answer for what they believe in.

If don't agree with what they have to say, just don't buy the albums or go to the concerts.

Shackleford, exactly what is the point of your post and what are you trying to accomplish with this petition? Like 408 said, if you don't like a particular band, just don't support them in any way.

Your downing on a guy for doing something that he believes in. Just because you don't like what they are doing doesn't make it wrong. Why don't you get off your *** and help in something you believe in. We need more people to help, not to sit and judge people.
