Need phone number information
Need phone number information i have been getting calls recently (for the past couple weeks), and when i answer, or the answering machine picks up, all i hear is a couple beeps spaced about 4 - 5 seconds apart. i finally had enough today and called the # back, and all i get is modem/fax tones. the caller id says "Alarm Device MF", and the phone number is based in/around San Antonio (210 area code).
is there any way i can find out who this phone number belongs to so i can call them and tell them to take my number off their list or whatever?
my number is registered on the national "do not call" list ( https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx ), and i have filed a complaint with them, but i'd like to know if there's a way to get any more information about this phone number?

I get those freakin calls too and have not been able to figure out what it is. Someone told me it is a company that calls and to see if you pick up or if an answering machine picks up. They do this to tell companies when you are home and the best time to contact you.

yeah, i knew it wasn't a telemarketer because every time i'd answer it, or even let the answering machine pick up, it would just beep 2 - 3 times, and when i called the # back, a modem picked up.....it's just annoying to keep getting calls, and you're not able to figure out who it is that's calling you, & how to get them to stop.
that said, i haven't received any calls from that # in several days, so apparently the Do Not Call registry complaint i filed did some good....but we'll see.....if they start calling again, i'll have to try giving them a call myself....

I always get a call from a number, and when I answer it hangs up. SO, I call it back, and it's just a recording of some guy speaking spanish a million miles an hour.

It may be that the company has your number in mistake of a fax number and you get bombarded with that stuff.. Call them and tell them to take you off as a contact.. We do that at my company all the time but if we get your number you are screwed because we are the largest over seas carrier service in the world and mistakes happen when we send electronic faxes... It is all computerized and if the comp sees that the fax was undeliverable, you'll have a crap load of faxes or in your case phone calls backig it up lol...
