Default Help me decide..

Fast 90/90 vs Ported Vic Jr

Going on a 408 car. Street/Strip car.. want GOOD gains.

BIG Hydraulic cam. Makes power till 7.1 k rpms

i don't do much normal driving. Mostly racing.

I'm really having a hard time picking the fast since i hear so much about how it's maxxed out at ~600whp

fast 90.... i'm running the vic jr. on my new setup but for a street car with a hyd. cam i would think the fast setup would be most beneficial.

I hear there's not much room to port on the FAST? That's starting to get out of my price range...

Ported fast + TB = 1500ish

no need for porting on a fast, just open the box, throw it on and drive it like ya stole it

you can port it out with a cartridge roll and shamfer some of the insides but really it is not worth the hassle. No real gains have been seen by doing so, there just is not alot of material to remove.

hmm, if you had a solid and kept making more power up top the vic would be better...


but w/ the hydraulic and that RPM... the FAST setup will most likely do better

i have talked to some HIGHLY qualified engine builders from all around who tell me that without matching the heads, cam, and converter to the manifold the victor jr. wont be the best choice. i am using the vic jr on my setup using a plate nitrous system but i'm also having the heads/cam/converter catered to that specific choice. good luck.
