Pros and Cons

Few Questions:

- What games to get?
- How are the online games? IE: Laggy, etc.
- Is an HDTV recommended, or do the graphics look good without one.

Thinking about getting one this evening.

Thanks in advance.

Not many conns G. Locks up once in a blue moon, might be that I was on an older XBOX game.

Pro's? To me it makes the XBOX look like Pong. lol

Games to get? I say Call Of Duty 2, Project Gotham Racing 3, and a must have is Oblivion.

Online? Only thing to me is still Halo 2. The Call Of Duty was really laggy. I don't know why, probably 1 million times more people on Halo 2 then Call Of Duty.

I just bought an HD Ready TV, 30" widescreen. It is a cheap brand, Insignia, but Best Buy had it on sale for $445 and you could not beat it. But yes HDTV (or ready) is pretty much a must have to enjoy the graphics.

Peace,
Craig.

It's a waste without an HDTV. I've played Madden, COD2 and PGR3 online and didn't have any problems. I did notice a few people lagging on PGR3 though a couple of times.

COD2 is hard on multi player. I just can't do first person shooters without a mouse. As a standalone game it's cool, lots of very impressive looking scenes with tons of movement. There is one scene in particular where you are calling in artillery from the building top, there are several different groups of bad guys and tons of armored vehicles as well as your own guys running around. The 360 doesn't slow down at all and every character is doing something independent (great AI).

Madden isn't much different than the original Xbox games, just better looking. Even with the 360s processing power when you simulate seasons, weeks or whatever it is SLOW!

I've played PGR3 more than anything else. It's got some great looking scenery, very realistic. The cars are very accurately portrayed and the engine sounds are pretty close.

I've got Ghost Recon as well but haven't played it lately. Being a Tom Clancy game it kicks my *** regularly and I get frustrated and play something else. Great gameplay though but obviously mapped out. I mean you know exactly when the bad guys are going to attack and where they are every time you get killed.

I haven't tried it, any good?

Halo 2 online takes away from all of my game time! lol But I can say this, Halo 2 is an older XBOX game and the 360 does make it look ALOT better.

Peace,
Craig.

that game is nice....

there is 2 version's of the 360, Hard-drive less(core), and the one that come with a hard drive.....

from my understandings is that you can save games from like blockbuster straight to the HD and than play them off the HD....

so for the xtra $$$ the one with the Hard drive is worth it...

i like my 360, i play COD2 almost all the time, its gotten alot better since the beginning, it was horibbly laggy in the beggining but alot better now. halo2 sorta has gone back burner for me, and COD2 is getting 10 more maps in a couple weeks, so that will make its playability even better.

Pro's & Con's

-Con's- not too many con's about the 360 except possibly the lack of games.

-Pro's- The graphic's are simply amazing with the HDTV connection. My brother and I play NBA2K6 on his 62inch tv and it's addictive. Depending on the type of game you prefer, I'd recommend trying, OBLIVION, QUAKE 4, GHOST RECON, and of course NBA2K6.

I love my xbox 360 although there needs to be more games. I'm hooked on Need for speed and Ghost Recon has bad *** graphics. It's also fun as hell online although there aren't very many maps for it. Call of Duty 2 just isn't doing much for me. It's ok I just like games like ghost recon where the course you take is open ened, meaning you pick the route you want to take.

As for having HD, well, I play mine on a projection screen and I think it looks good. I've played in on my buddies HD tv and you can tell a difference, but it's still ok on a regular t.v.

Online can get laggy at times. I get online about twice a week for several hours and I haven't experienced any bad lag.

I say you pick one up. Honestly, the only down side I see is that there aren't enough games out for it. I like how you can have it connect to your pc. When I play need for speed or ghost recon, I like playing tones from my pc. I also like how you can download demos instead of going to blockbuster and renting the game.

What they said. Fight Night 3, Call of Duty 2, Ghost recon, and PGR3. Rent King Kong it is fun and looks good, but only take a couple hours to beat.

I beat call of duty 2 in a week, was pretty fun never touch it. Play need for speed quite often, pretty fun game, love to screw with the cops. I have a 32 inch HD LCD Samsung and the HD looks crazy on it. I couldn't see not playing on an HD. Comparable to my PC that has a 7800GT in SLI and few other $$ goodies. I do find myself playing WOW alot more than my 360. Plus the wireless controlers were the best idea. 360 was well worth it and the games will come.

Nope, you can't rip games to the hard drive on a 360. Even if you could at 20 gigs it would only hold a couple of games at a time. Now an old Xbox with a modchip and bigger hard drive yeah, it's relatively easy to do so.

The 360 premium comes with the hard drive, wireless headset and a wireless controller. If you add these to the core system it's about $150 more.

playing the 360 on a regular TV is ok as long as you connect it via the component cables. I am looking forward to the day that i have my plasma and can play on that but im content for now playing it with my 27 inch pansonic flat screen through the component connections.

As for games: I have COD2, GRAW, NFS:MW, BF2:MC, tiger woods, PG3, and top spin 2. They all look great and none of them have dissappointed graphically and only TS:2 has dissappointed in game play.

and you can't save the games on the xbox yet.... i've heard they are working on it but as for now just the xbox. which i did and it is totally worth it. any game i want i get it for like 7.99 rental fee.
