Damn Bro, I got one back in 02 and got my license taken for 6 months and spent 24 Hours in downtown Houston. I don't see anything there is you can do. I think you are pretty fucked and have to chalk it up as a learning experience.

If you are convicted it's an automatic 1-year license suspension.

SUSPENSION FOR OFFENSE RELATING TO RACING OF
MOTOR VEHICLE ON PUBLIC HIGHWAY OR STREET. (a) A license is
automatically suspended on conviction of an offense under Section
545.420(a).
(b) A suspension under this section is for one year

Holy ****! I can't believe you go to jail for racing in the US. Here in Canada it's a ticket and some demerit points.
I hope everything works out for you.

I got busted last august, went to jail for the night too, was in houston jail then got transferred to harris county. The best thing you can do is get a lawyer you will get a lot of letters from lawyers in the mail for a while about 5-6 a day I just picked one. It is a class b misdemeanor for racing, I got the lawyer was my first offense and got 6 months probation, community service, drivers ed. course, drug and alcohol evaluation even though I dont do drugs or drink (that often) and I never got my licence taken away, Oh and youre supposed to get a weekend in jail (depends what judge) my judge didnt give it to me she messed up . If either of you tried to run you're f****d the guy I raced tryed to run, was his first offense to got 2 yrs probation, he got a lawyer and had the felony charged dropped (lucky). Anyway probation is about $50 a month, dont know where you live but I got prohbation in baytown my p.o. was cool some are ******** but i was in and out in less than 30 min the one on old spanish trail takes forever. I think I about covered everything you got any questions let me know, right now i'm just rambling I think I should go to bed.

Next time rob a bank, it's more of a thrill and less of a fine. If you get away with it you can have an extra $80-$250k cash.

Actually, we live in Texas so pretty much anything you do that is "wrong" is going to be taken to extremes in terms of punishment.

Street racing used to be a good ole boy thing, then around the late 90s it blew up with the non-white kids and became a "problem".

Realisticly it was always a problem but never a concern until non-whites started doing it. I'm white so I'm not playing the raciest cards just an observation.

The media didn't care about it until the Fast and the Furious came out. After that lots of attention was paid to it and of course with advertising everyone wanted to try it. We used to always get ran off eventually but if you got marked and pulled over it was usually a BS trespassing ticket or no insurance, more for harassment than trying to stop it from happening.

Then again back when I used to go out there a mid 12 second car could dominate nearly everything out there. Sometimes you'd have something running in the 10s but they were pretty obvious and were usually trailered. Now though you might see a seemingly stock looking Corvette that is quiet and makes over 1,000hp. There are lots of mid to high 8 second cars out there now, things that just aren't safe on the street.

I got caught last august but she didnt get me for street racing, she called it wreckless driving. I spent about 8 hours in jail, ($160 bail), got 24 hrs community service, $316 court cost, $150 dollar fine, and 6 months probation $20 dollars per visit. I plead no contest for deffered adjudication which means that it will not be on my record. In San Antonio its automatic jail time but since it was my first offense i didnt get it. I have two more months to go before im free!!!!!! Definately get a lawyer or else they wont even hear your case.. Good luck!!!
