I would do longtubes. I have a M6 so I wouldnt know if the gains from a convertor would be better but you can't go wrong with longtubes and a y pipe.

If you shop around too, you could probably find a lid and headers at the same time.

Also, since your car is a 2000, you could think about LS6 intake...

LS6 intake and pacesetter headers/ORY. Could probably get them all for under $800, pretty decent gain.

OR

a converter. a 'verter will make the car feel more responsive and fun on the street. just make sure you leave yourself room to grow as if you put a cam in later, you may need to re-stall.

If you already have a lid, thats another 100 bucks freed up for those headers and LS6 intake.

Just keep your eyes peeled on the boards. Theres been a few posted here recently going anywhere from 275-350. I saw a thread about one being for sale in DFW right now, dont know if the guy sold it or not, but they usually do go pretty quick.

i still have my ls1 intake and i dont plan on changing it for a while -- i make plenty of power with it -- but since you dont have headers -- hooker or kooks -- would be the best. ut go with an x-pipe -- it has a better sound to it (you've heard my car) and TSP has one for like 450.00 - plus the headers.... well you might need a little more than 800.00 for those. but its up to you cause its your car and you have to be the one to drive it. period

STALL nuff said. No matter what mods you do in the future a stall is a great starting point.

Man, just shop around and see what you can find. If you can get a stall and headers for a good deal, go that route. I'm sure you'll be happy with the performance of the car no matter which one you go with.
