Default LS1 Machine Work in DFW

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a couple of reputable machine shops in the DFW area to hone my cylinder walls, and put new cam bearings in my ls1. Also would anyone know how much I would expect to pay for someone to rework my short block reusing my pistons?

Thanks

They have a pretty good turn-around on engines? Built any high HP blower/turbo motors?

I had my work done at calverts, but xtreme would be my recomendation. Had to go get a part from them a while back and seems like a really good shop. They were building some pretty sweet stuff when i was there a while back, and were just starting to build up their LS1 program. The 3 of them all graduated from SAM in houston too, i believe.

Brandon: They seemed like they knew their general machine stuff. Its still running good after 7k or so miles. I did a compression test at 4k, and all but 2 of the cylinders were like 150psi i think, and the other 2 were 145psi, and 155psi, so everything is holding up real good. I havent been around much lately, and I havent been out to any of the GTGs... damn work, and taking a road trip to the northeast.

Oh I've heard about them for years and years. Just wondered if they messed with LSx stuff much.

Gotta check the car out sometime soon, haven't seen it in a good while.

Well you get what you pay for and xtreme's work is top notch. And i know chris fowler personally at xtreme and i can tell you he is a perfectionist. He takes no shortcuts on his work. So when you pay them you payed for the best but if your a regular customer they cut some slack every once and again. I recomend them call them and tell them Marcus sent you over they handle the business!!

He does great work, is a total engine snob, and kinda wierd all that **** that he goes through for an engine. For sure atleast give him a call. Not many folks know he exist because he is pretty low key and basically a one man operation.
