Default Delete SES light

Employee at Auto Zone told me that if you use the OBD scanner to much to delete codes so that the SES light will turn off can damage the cars computer. He told me that you can turn off the SES light without using the scanner to delete by taking off either the negative or positive battery terminal then reconnect and start car. Is this true? and does anyone know how to correctly do this?

I don't see why it would ever hurt the computer. Maybe this is why he's working at AutoZone instead of a performance shop. And it can be taken off , but it really depends on what set it in the first place.

I'm a manager at an Autozone, and i can tell you some people at Autozones dont know a f*ckin thing about cars, so dont take anything they say too seriously. And no, deleting the codes doesn't hurt your computer, and yes taking off one battery cable for 10min or more will make your light turn off usually, but if you dont fix the problem causing the light, it will come back pretty quick.

Craig and I disconnected the negative and removed some fuses to reset mine. Just make sure you put the fuses back in the right slot.
