Gotta new job! I've been working on getting this job for about 6 months. The only sticking point has been my starting salary. The lead eng. called me tonight, and said if I still want it, I have it and to go ahead come in Fri to fill out paperwork, pee test etc. Looks like I'll be giving my 2 weeks notice next MOnday to current job. I'm super excited!
I've been a mait. electrical tech at a plnt here in Wharton for 13 years, and have advanced as far as possible. I'm in the bottom end of management as the lead elect. tech.
New job is in the oilfield, as a field service tech. for a comany that builds SCR shacks for the rigs. I'll be going all over the counrty, and offshore too, working on them. The starting pay is sthe same as I currently make, benifits are pretty much the same, but with the OT, travel allowances and bonuses, I stand to pretty much double my income. Look out 6 figure club, here I come!!!!
