Default tempered steel

anyone ever drilled through it. i got a broken inserter tool broke of in the #9 head bolt hole. the block is still in the car any insit would be helpfull. i'm trying to get it running during labour day weekend seeing that i'm getting ready to deploy again in a few weeks. tia all.

Go slow and on a slow speed and keep the bit cool with WD40.

Having a shop vac going at the base of the bit to snag any filings is also a good idea.

Put rags or covers over any exposed holes in the motor. A good cleaning with brake cleaner and then duct tape works well.

Matco sells a nice extractor kit, not sure on the part number but it basically slides into the grooves of the tap and locks onto it... Then you just back it out.. Very trick..
