Default Good shop in DFW for gear setup

Just bought a real nice 99 T/A with lots of goodies already installed, but.....
It's got an 8.8 ford rear with 3.73's and the whine is more than I can take.
I'd like a good shop to see what can be done. If it needs a new gearset, so be it.

I hate to pay for work, but diff's are not my thing.

I would check with SQR in Benbrook or Xtreme Horsepower in Richland Hills.

Your crazy. I might start going up there for things. I don't get parts at cost at Craptek anymore.

Texas Drivetrain Performance is the only way to go if you just want gears done.

btw, if your fbody does have an 8.8" ford rearend it's most likely that Daniel at SQR set that rearend up when it was first built as he was setting them up for Craig at the old Extreme Chasis way back when.

Thanks Skipperbisket,

I'm going to call the guy I got the car from and ask him who did the rear Originally. He did mention he had the gears set up twice with no luck killing the whine.

I'll look up Texas Drivetrain Performance for sure, too.

Checked out the Texas Drivetrain website. They look like just the kind of shop I need. As soon as my ZO6 is sold, the T/A will probably go there to get de-whined.

I'm definitely going to check out Xtreme to see what else I can spend money on too!

JAson at Texas Drivetrain built a 10 bolt with 3.73s for my road racing car.

I installed the diff in the car and immediately hit the track with it this weekend. I ran over 30 gallons of gas through it. If I wasn't trying to make a hole in the firewall with the gas pedal, I was downshifting like I was rowing a boat.

From the workbench to the track.

Not a single problem. No leaks, no noise, no problems.
