SRT-4 question there is this guy that drives a neon red srt-4 I see pass by everyday and he approached me at a store and asked me he has seen me around in my car and wants to race me. I asked him what he gots in the skittle and said stage 3, now I dont know much about cars just the basic but how much horsepower does a stage 3 neon make? And what is the most horsepower a neon can make like I've heard some neon's having stage 4? Do you think I have a chance or what?
I would say so but then ill race anything I am not skeered. LOL 401 hp you should get him just tell him youll race him from a dig. LOL auto are monsters you should beat him in fact tell him youll give him a car and a half and just have someone either flag you guys or do it at a light. I think that would be your best chance since you dont know what is a stage 3.
Hmmmm, I raced a tricked out red SRT-4 on the south side last weekend when he started blocking my exit and wouldn't let me over (I-45S feeder at Dixie Farm). Is he about 20ish, slightly heavy, dark hair with a silly looking thin mustache? If so you've got nothing to worry about. I put 4 cars on him in a 35-70 roll. This guy was all about wanting to race the T/A, after the first woopin they rolled up on the left side and are just looking at us like they wanted more or were going to ask us what a Firehawk was but they didn't say anything. I just swung right onto the exit and didn't look back.

Cammed automatic LS1 with a converter should put about 4 car lengths on the Neon right off the line, then it is bye-bye time. Does a Stage 3 Skittle run 11s? Most converter/cam/400 rwhp LS1 cars do.

dont race him from a roll. My little brother has one and it doesn't even have any stages upgrades. Bigger intercooler, blow off valve, wastegate and downpipe and he has beaten a c5, ta's, and my truck from 40 and 60 rolls. But at a track he is lucky to see low 14's. BUT he didn't have enuff to beat Brent (LS1powerhouse02) and brent is around 400hp.

I raced one in _Zac's cobra he said he beat cobras all the time. I waved him the move with the top down I might add. Then spinning through second and third he was calling me remax. He got his **** shoved, but you have an auto so i would go from a dig.

do the math and that makes them extremely fast except from a stop they have ZERO Traction.
I have a stage 1 and I can't keep traction in first or second gear....

I raced one that went low 12s in my freakin Dodge.. It was "frum roll" at about 40 and no matter how hard he tried, he couldnt walk on me, mainly due to his incompetent shifting.. Most of these skittleheads are nothing more than high schoolers that cant drive
A stage 3 SRT-4 makes around 310hp at the wheels with just a 2 1/2" exhaust, but most run a 3" catless, most have a aftermarket wastegate, ect. ect., so they realy put down around 320-330 hp on a stage 3. Which by the way has almost zero lag time. From the dig you should beat him, there is only a handfull of people that can launch them correctly but even then you have an auto with a stall (dont why but w/e) so you should beat him. from a roll it should be pretty close cause the SRT are pretty decent highway cars, no M6 but decent. I however dont "think" an auto is as good as the 6 on top end, Im new to the LS1 world so idk just my guess. So it should be up the SRT driving shifting skills at that point, cause well of course you just sit there an hold the pedal down

I raced one the other night in a stock *** 98 auto vette with 2.73 gears. We went from a dig i hear him spin so i wait a second for him to stop spinning (i cant stand excuses). Let him ghet up to the door and floored it again, put about 3-4 cars on him by the end of the quarter. He said he was running 14 pounds of boost.
Damn guy must of not know how to drive it cause I beat those POS vettes all day in mine! Of course mine wasnt running the stock 14 pounds but even then I did better than that when I was stock...
Either way though, the LS1s were always my favorite races. Always cocky but then wouldnt even look over when I handed them there ***, always ran a red one in arlington (has black rims) and i always beat him the first time then he had to turn his nitrous on to beat me. It was funny as hell, I only had like $1k into mine too. I loved it, but now here I am driving a T/A, it isnt bad I like it. No Neon but it will do for a DD...
