I'd confront, but be nice (tactful) about it. He can make your parents life hell via the HOA. Trash cans not in on time (calls to the HOA). Lawn not mowed/edged properly (calls to the HOA). Etc, etc...

"Do not **** where you live."

I wonder how many people telling this guy to " Rev it up " are actual HOME OWNERS vrs. Renters or living with mom and dad?

When you actually own a home and you are invested in an area an old saying will play in your mind before you make choices. My Grandfather taught it to me, it goes " Don't **** where you live. "

The LAST thing in life you're going to want is the STRESS of somebody hating you that you'll live near for the next 5-8 years of your life. I dont' care who you are, it's going to add "some" stress to your life knowing your neighbore is going to screw with you every chance he/she gets.

The only moron, WT people in our neighborehood, guess what...live in a rent house there. The guy rides a pocket bike up and down the street every weekend, no shirt and of course tattos up to his neck. He's having fun and I don't have a problem with him but it does get a little excessive when it's 7PM on a 65° night and I've got all my windows down and he's made his 6th pass down my culdesac. The pocket bike is NOT legal to be ridden on public streets. I always wave at the guy and smile because normally I'm in my garage tooling around with my Z28 so he probably thinks I don't mind him and that's why he sticks around my house riding his pocket bike.

I'd rather let him think that and keep the peace in the hood though.

Move out in the country it's not an issue then. I just don't think I could hack asshat neighbors. Until I got to college station to finish college I had lived in the sticks my whole life. City life sucks too many people.

For the most part what we're talking about here is going to work and going home, NOT fast and furious through the neighborhood at 2am on a school night.

SO, if I own a house, it's my DUTY to have super quiet exhaust...is that what you're saying? If so, that's retarded. A loud exhaust doesn't lower property values, it doesn't scare away the mailman, and it doesn't make weeds grow in your neighbor's yard. Within 2 blocks of my house are at least 4 cars with LOUD LOUD exhausts and I have yet to hear anyone in the neighborhood complain.

What do they complain about? They complain about the ONE jackass who had a car alarm that went off every time someone got into the car - and we're talking 10 times a day. Thank God that car got totalled.

Actually, all the folks here suggesting intimidation of one sort or another are off base.

WTF do you need an obnoxiously loud exhaust for? It contributes nothing to actual performance... and I'll bet those with loud exhausts tend to be under, say, 30.

Get an exhaust that meets legal noise limits, and add an electric cutout. Personally, I think it's a whole lot more fun to be stealthy... and then lay down a 12 or 11 second run when I do open up the cutout and the throttle.

As for those suggesting burnouts in the residential neighborhood... I will bet you either don't have kids, or are rotten parents. That's just juvenile.

Yes, it's likely you will be percieved as speeding with a loud exhaust and a performance car, even when you are not. You can control that; use less throttle, or a quieter exhaust. You can't control the world... and trying will make you nuts.

Solution= Don't buy a house in a neighborhood. I personally hate the bullshit of having to get approval to paint your house, or getting a letter because the race car trailer is parked in the driveway. Get a nice house on an acre, then you can pee off the back porch without the whole neighborhood seeing you.....

You must be the Homeowners Association president that was in the movie "Over the hedge".

My neighborhood does the same exact thing "Report speeders to this number" we care about our children blah blah blah and once again its lexus suv's and minivans drifting around the 90 degree cul de sac turn torwards my house.

I can't even count how many times a soccer mom has tried to run me down. Not to mention people passing me when I'm following the 20 mph speed limit. We have 4 cars and one lane of driveway so we have to move cars a lot and atleast three times when I'm backing a car out someone has gone INBETWEEN me and my driveway while I'm in the process of moving the car.

I was driving down a side street and someone ran all the way down their driveway and told me to slow down. Don't you think if I was going over the speedlimit there would be no possible way for her to get down her driveway in time and yell at me? Then I saw the same bitch hauling *** in her minivan the next day.

However they have never complained about me ripping an engine out in my driveway or leaving my car on jackstands for a week so I'm going to keep laying low until someone reports me for no reason.

I'm a home owner, and everytime one asshat leaves the neighborhood, one moves in. I live around a bunch of bitchy old people who were scared of my "vicious" pitbulls. There are like 2 decent people on my street. The rest of them can go to hell, and I will gladly tell them at every opportunity I get. I don't even mow my yard like I should to **** them off. I'm waiting on one of them to say something b/c I'll get about 20 gallons of diesel and kill every blade of grass that I own

This is pretty much how I am. My car isn't my daily, so I don't get too many complaints. I drive extra careful in my car because I know what everyone's perception is. When driving the truck, I'll typically go faster and turn harder. If I have to come in late at night, I'll do everything I can to get it in the garage without making any noise. No complaints yet, and we've lived there for about a year.
