Right on, it's a '74. I picked it up just to be a driver. Its just a 318/904 car but it's yellow with white guts. Should be a fun cruiser in the summer. The shortblock is rebuilt, but needs heads, and the interior needs work. The body is ok, but will need a proper paint job soon.

My concern is that it stumbles at idle, and has amiss at full throttle that needs to be addressed. I am hoping to get it on a scanner today to make sure that everything is operating properly before moving towards a tune. I also think that it may need a little work to have everything work together properly. We'll see as I find out more about it.

Default Another Dead End

I was given the idea to call the major shops in the Dallas area to check customer records. After inspecting the car further I recognized the brand name of some parts that are local to where the car was purchased. When I called the shop, they told me "We do too many cars to keep any records of cars or customers...We just do too many." Wow, even GM can keep track of what cars they work on, but this shop does too many? I am truly impressed. No help there. I guess I won't order parts from there, they are probably too busy to help.

Yep. Weak excuses. Poor customer service and sales technique. They just lost a customer for life with the attitude that they showed.

Bring it down to MTI...from my PERSONAL experience with my LS1 they'll get ya runnin top notch. The stumble is more than likely from a shitty tune for the cam, the miss...hell unfortunatly that could be dozens of things. I'd pull plugs immediatly to check for anything out of the ordinary, and probably do a compression check while I was at it. Once you're sure you've got good compression and all the plugs were clean you could probably breath a lil easier w/knowing you've got a good motor.

Sounds like someone has definatly put that motor through some hard times. Good luck my friend!!
