Default unfortunate

not too long ago i got hooker lt's, high flow cats, and an off road y pipe instaleld at MTI. they did the work, i picked it up and everything was great, i knew i had to get it tuned and what not at some point. if anyone read a thread i made a week or so ago about my engine not outputting the power it should, also known as hesitation, you knwo what my problem was. i was gassing it and nothing happened, hen all of a sudden it would shoot off like a bullet. well i took my car in to a shop over in the klein area by my parents house that i have built a good relationship with over the years, and i trust their service and work. so after they diagnosed my car (check engine light had been on for a while during the period of random hesitations) the guy called and said that the problem was random misfires, and the reason was because of spark plugs. not long before i got my headers n stuff installed by mti, i had taken my car to this same shop for the 90k mile factory maintenance, and part of this was putting in new plugs, which they put ac delco's in. when mti did the install, they replaced them with nkg's. BUT the shop said that whoever put in the nkg's at mti did a shitty job. he didnt even replace all of the delco plugs, and TWO of the new nkg's were so loose that the mechanic could pull them out with his bare hand. I was amazed when i heard this. he said this is the cause of my misfirings and engine problems. and hopefully there was no other damage done to the engine, they couldnt see that there was, thankfully.

long story short, according to my local shop that i have a friendly relationship with, mti put in a not-full set of plugs, and two of them werent even in tight at all, causing my engine to misfire and a couple times almost getting me into wrecks when pulling out of a parking lot or turning right onto a street because i couldnt accelerate. So of course i called mti and they said that yes they replaced them with nkg's (i couldnt remember if they had so i asked) and denied being able to make any mistakes like those during spark plug installation. well the evidence was right there in the engine for all to see. whats that phrase? the proof is in the pudding i think. and that was that.

so after spending money to fix a problem that couldve been prevented by mti's mechanic not half-assing his work, i'm going to pick up my car and not give mti any more of my business. im not a mechanic nor to i try to act like i know how to do **** to my car, but even an idiot can understand when there are different brand spark plugs under the hood and a couple of them are so loose you can pull em out with two fingers, somebody fucked up.

im done venting.

who do yall recommend for dyno tuning in houston since i'm not goin back to mti, and tuning was what i was planning on doing already until this misfiring **** started?

This is David at MTI. To be frank this is the first that I've heard of this issue and if correct, this needs to be addressed and we need to take care of you on it.

Having said that, I'm going to need some tangible proof and information - can you please have the mechanic that saw and diagnosed this call me directly so I can discuss this with him? My number at the shop is (281) 870-8787.

Thanks,

David
