Goin to the track this weekend and need tips
well im goin to kennedale this weekend to run my friend who has a 88 mustang fox body(race wieght 2650 lbs). He says he has 420hp on a stroker motor that sounds pretty wicked. I ran him on the street the other night and it was a good race. I think he said his motor was a 306 stroker with headers, transbrake, 4000 stall with 411 gears. When we raced on the street I got the holeshot since I have drag radials and at around 90 is when he flew by me probably going 10 to 15 mph faster then me. Found out he also used the transbrake on me and he also heated his tires before we ran. I thought since I would trap in the 80s that it would be a good race 1/8th mile. He's says he can hook up better at the track and last weekend his car ran 7.60's...With the mods I have im guessin ill run mid 8's??? I was wondering what I should do to help me out. Im takin my spare out and jack and im also goin to take my rear seat out. Im also goin to go to the track with a quarter tank of gas. What else do you guys suggest for me to do? Would it be safe to mix a gallon of 112 octane with probably 4 gallons of my 93? Sorry for being so long just tryin to get ready for this weekend...Thanks!!!

i was assuming it was still a 5.0l block. if he has a cowl hood, he does have enough room to fit any one of these ^^^^ in there

Don't worry about the 112 octane fuel...justa waste w/o other mods (compression, cut heads, bigger bump stick, etc).
If all ya got is the large tires for the front, just make sure they are aired up, maybe even a little over (i.e. If ya run them at 35lbs, put 40 in em).
That Mustang is gonna walk you like your sitting still. Don't worry about that, instead, just practice launching, learn how to drive your car straight. You can win races at a track by being consistent and learning how your car reacts. Cutting good light seems to have been forgotten .....

I've never seen anyone squeeze a 351W based motor in a Fox body w/ out a cowl hood. not saying it can't be done, ive personally never seen it done though.
