Default Anyone bored around Katy? (Alternator Help)

About to remove my alternator to break it open and clean it. When the power steering pump went, it vomited all over the alternator and it **** the bed. I'm hoping it's just dirty. If anyone wants to help get the puppy out or just stand around and talk cars, I might can find a 12 pack for your troubles.

Ok, got started, how the hell do I get to the back bolt that holds the alternator on? I did a search already, but didn't come up with anything very helpful. I really, really wanna burn the whole thing and roll it off into the gulf.

lots of extensions and patience, lay under the drivers side door and ull be able to get the extensions through to the back bolt

when i did mine i wasnt holding it though, bolt came out, alternator fell down, and screwed the connector in the back, every once in a while itll have a little charge trouble, so be careful

Ok, alternator is loose, but there are power steering lines in the way and I don't know where/what to unplug first. I've never actually taken an alternator off that was as complex as this before.

Do I pull the alternator out fo the front, towards the fans?

By the way Silas, the extensions worked great, but I noticed that once the bolt is loose, you can squeeze a hand up to it to remove it the rest of the way.

I beered up pretty good, lol. About to go get the new alt. Seriously, if someone wants to steal my car and roll it into the gulf, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be totally opposed.

And whose Idea was it to put the alternator right under the Power Steering and AC compressor right where it can catch water and road ****?
