They can go from like $6000-$12000 depending on what you need in it Honestly I'd go with a LME or HKE 408. They use really good parts and the motors will be bad ***! I think they are going for like $6000-$7000 though with everything. It could be cheaper or could be a little more. You'll love it regardless!

My 408 in my Camaro I kind of lucked out because I had the rods/crank already. I think this is a little rough break down though.

Eagle Crank is like $900-$1000
Eagle rods are like $600-$700
Wiseco Pistons/Rings - $800-$900
Block - $400-$500
Bearings/Random stuff - $500-$800
Then whatever machine stuff cost.

Plus whatever cam you decide to go with. You already have the heads/cam then your set to have a bad *** motor!

Man I couldn't tell you. I just wrote the check for my 408 and that was that. I don't know anything about LS1's

I think the bottom line was 8k for the forged shortblock including AFR 225 heads.

Sucks for you, I spent many of days over at LME talking to Brian and Pecos about my motor. Then again that was 3 years ago and my car did go 6.7s @ 103 @ 3500lbs with a glide and 1.8 60ft.

Call Pecos and Brian @ LME or Erik at HKE. You will get a bad *** motor regardless. Some of the fastest LSx and LTx cars in Texas have come from both.

How does it suck for me? I was being sarcastic. Besides, LME built my motor as well. It could run faster, but a few things I lack- FAST manifold, 4.10 gears, etc, etc. It WILL be a low 10 all motor car street car before the end of the year. I know what needs to be done to make it happen, I'm just in the same boat as alot of others----getting the funds together.

Considering the last thread and others from you.. Not sure what your going for.

And I hope it is a low 10 sec car. LME built your motor and did your heads so its obviously not junk, you have a TH400, some suspension.. It's just getting things straight. If your going to spray it though don't bother with the 4.10, do a or a 3.90 (if you don't have a spool). If you can find a used FAST, I got mine for $550 back when they were about 6 months old. Help save some money for other things. Whether you like it or not it, it took me 8 months last time I did stuff to my car because I couldn't pay anyone to do it, or get all the parts at one time. It paid off in the long run though, learned what to not buy before I made some decisions.

Sounds good. I didn't men to offend you in the other thread. I know you are a good kid. I am 39 years old and don't need any drama. My wife gives me enough as it is.

I've been doing most my own work also. Its really better that way, you learn more. Yeah, I think I'll stick with my 3.73's for now. I'm not out to set any records, just have fun and try to find some 10.0 index races. But like I say, my car is HEAVY. With an iron block, 80 lb roll bar, and my 220 lb *** it tips the scales at 3900 lbs. Absolutely no weight removed. Still has the CD changer in the back, full interior, everything. No skinnies on front, nothing. I ran that 7.20 @ HMP with the cutout closed and cats in place. Cats are coming off soon. Alot of things are going to happen in the next six months.

Clash of the Titans has a True Street 10.00 index. The Clobberthon events are fun also, because you get to beat up on race car looking things.

If you ever do spray it though, the motor will love it. You will run 9s easy with just a 150 shot.

Erik at HKE does all of our motors and we sell the short block for $3600.00 with no core. That is with Eagle crank, Eagle rods, normally Wiseco pistons, Speed Pro rings, ARP main studs and rod bolts.
Price is just for the rotating assembly; no oil pump or chain. Block is a new 6.0 iron block.

Erik at HKE is building my new 408 and Grik Good is cleaning up my ET 245`s for me. Wouldn`t go anywhere else PERIOD. These guys are the BEST! Had LME do my first, But I found out ERIK is the man! 7-9K depending on heads! Also do you need intake, headers, etc. That can mount up quick.

Erik is in my sig. Look on LS1tech people search and you will find him and Greg good. Everyone knows them. The best of people!
