They don't poop "everywhere" but they do poop. They are very clean animals and don't poop where they sleep. So they don't poop in their pouches that they sleep in or on their owners. Never. But usually when they poop they're pretty much done for the rest of the night. They don't tear things up. I don't think they could bite hard enough to tear anything up.

They need some attention but that's why we got 2 of them in case we can't give them the attention they need.

I got my girlfriend two after seeing Brian's first thread. They are pretty cool pets. We don't have any complaints about them.

Danny, how strict is their diet? is it basic stuff, or do they need specialized foods?

They require a lot of fruits and a good high calcium to phosphate level and protein. We feed them a bowl of mixed fruits, a an ice cream like food with a mixture of honey, baby food, baby cereal, a hard boiled egg and a couple other things. And we give them treats like yogurt and meal worms.

And I don't think a can of beer would be good for them

A week? The baby cereal and food lasts us about 3 or 4 months and we just buy a bag of mixed fruits and vegetables. If the fruits didn't go bad they'd also last 3 or 4 months. We keep everything frozen in little blended ice cubes and both of them eat one of those cubes + their fruits. If I were to guess we spent no more than $10 on them every couple months.

They are supposed to live in groups of 2 or more. If you get only 1, then you have to give it a ton of attention or it will die of loneliness. They mark their territory with a musky type odor.

I bought mine(2) from a houston breeder.
