Physical therapy won't help if they don't know what's wrong. See an orthopaedic surgeon and if it's a nerve problem (Which happenns many times in cases of chronic back pain, crushed vertebral discs, etc.), he'll most likely refer you to a neurosurgeon. Don't get scared, they can help. But hopefully the orthopaedic guy can get you straightened out.

update on this deal. I went to have an MRI and they said I had 2 slipped discs and that one was damaged to the point of me needing surgury, putting me out of work for 3 months. Which leaves me in a bad spot. I have GOT to sell this Firehawk to get a handle on my bills, Ill post another ad in this section.

I had one disc in my back bulge out and compress a nerve. I was out of work for almost exactly 1 month - the first three weeks was tests and MRIs and seeing doctors and taking LOTS and LOTS of vicodin...
Had the surgery on a Monday and was back to work on the next Monday - the doctor just trimmed that portion of the disc off and that was it.
I will always have problems with my back, but I can function without vicodin now - before surgery it was 3 vicodin or I wasn't going anywhere.

Thats the first glimmer of hope Ive seen, of course 3 months was worst case scenario, the doc said they might scope it and the down time would be less, Ive had 3 vicodin this morning just to get off the cane. Im doing the physical therapy thing first to see if itll go back into place. Short term disability pays only half of my hourly wage for 3 months, with no overtime and no bonuses, which equates to about 1/4th mypay cuz thats where all my $$ comes from.
It sucks for those of us like yourself and I, if we were on welfare it'd be a full free ride and we would not have to give up anything. I think I may have to look into this soon I have had back problems for the last ten years and they are only getting worse.
