Thanks for the replies, both for and against moving. If i were to go out there it would be as a business banker for chase bank. I'd live with my buddies who bought a house in Roundrock, pretty nice 4 bedroom that would go for 800k in sacramento, they got it for 215.

Seriously guys, Bob seems a little grumpy in his posts, but he does speak for a number of Austinites.

We are suffering a literal invasion of folks from Cali. Austin is liberal like California, the weather is similar, and they can buy a hell of a lot more house for the money. So, they are coming over here in droves. Screwing up our morning commutes by clogging the roads and driving housing prices up. They screwed up their own state, so they are quitting and coming over here to mess up ours.

Those of you IN Cali, don't hate on me. I'm only speaking out against the "defectors" that you sent over here. Have no problem with those who are there and stay there.

is that at the RM level? I didn't think the retail business banker position had a base salary that high.

I was gonna say leaving CA would be a mistake til I saw Sacramento. Austin might actually be a step up.

My buddy is an RM and that's what his bus bankers make. It is certainly better than the 45k they make here in cali.

I think if it wasnt for Austin, Texas would be an unbearable wasteland.. I moved here from Cali 4 years ago.. Houston is about the worst place to be on planet- I would take living in central LA over Houston. Dallas sucks ***, and just about everywhere else in the state is a bible-laden borefest. Austin actually has a ton of **** to do, and if you're one of those gay radio-loving freaks who only comes out of the woodworks when Metallica or britney Spears comes to town, then Austin definately isnt for you. Everything in Austin is different, which is what makes it so sweet.
