Acting was top notch by every single character, well written, actually stayed pretty faithful to history, just a great F'n movie! Go see it right NOW!
Only the animals and the deformed people were a little over the top, but that takes nothing from the movie. I am going again tomorrow, this deserves 2 viewings...which is very rare for me.

Well, looks like I'm in the minority. The boyfriend is Greek and about two years ago when we first started going out he told me about the Spartans story of 300 -- I think something about the area were the battle took place was on TV. Anyway, I think this would have been a much better movie if Mel Gibson had done it. It's an extremely powerful story without the need of any fantasy creatures or nudity.
If I hadn't known about the story at all, I think I would have liked the movie more.
