Lidge at it again...

As soon as Pujols skull fucked Lidge he was pretty much through.
The atmosphere change was awesome after that homerun. He cruises through the first 2 outs, everybody started thinking maybe he had it back.......then bam, same ol lidge.
Great start for the bullpen.

You guys do realize Lidge was 32 of 38 in saves last year right. That's why he got his job back. Apparently his 5.28 ERA was overlooked for that reason. He made a few mistakes. I think a good hitter would have parked his third pitch, which was a straight slider (a called third strike is dangerous on the third pitch). The pitch that was hit out was a golf swing and by no means a bad pitch, but it went yard. His slider is just not moving and he's not locating his mid-upper 90mph fastball like he should. He's definitely got a monkey on his back and needs something, but what it is not even Nolan Ryan could help with, but the season is no time to work on mechanics. Luke Scott is takin' car of business and Roy O. was in classic form though. Tough loss...

The more telling stat to me is WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Innings Pitched). In 2006, his WHIP was 1.40. In 2005, it was 1.15.
For comparison's sake, in 2006:
Billy Wagner - 1.11
Mariano Rivera - 0.96
Revor Hoffman - 0.97
That means he's got a LOT of traffic on the basepaths, which means he's always one hanging slider away from blowing it.

I've always said he smoked pole...why didn't anybody ever believe me? He's a douche bag. Now you have to ask yourself what's worse? Albert Pujols in the NLCS or giving up that bomb to the most random douche EVER. Just for the record, I'm pretty sure that guy hasn't ever played a full season in his life. And it's not like Chad "*****" Qualls is any better. That guy's about as cool as a ripped condom.....and that's not cool.

How many times did he come in with greater than a 3-run lead and end up putting himself in a save situation (or worse, an outright loss)?

Its alway pleasant to turn Sportscenter on in the morning, and the FIRST thing I see.....
They were going to commercial (turned it on in the middle of the broadcast), showing a clip of **** Brains Lidge, and the commentator saying "....And Houston, you still got a problem."
Wow, my day is starting out right.

Lidge = Boom goes the dynamite! It's hard to hate on the guy, but it's the same old ****, another year. Yall notice the little hop and kneel after that ball was rocketed into the crawford boxes?? Seen that way too many times...I agree with yall, Garner should have gone out there and said "Not this **** again!"

Yeah, but its a continuation from last year. Besides, we don't have David Carr to kick around anymore.
