It was an offer. If you don't want to take it, a simple "No Thanks" would suffice. The $5k offer took into account the possibility of an electrical gremlin causing the car to take a **** on me, and what money could be made by parting out the car instead of spending countless time and money chasing electrical problems that plague flood cars.

If you have any further issues with me, take it to PM.
OK, No thanks. Take into account that worst case scenario, completely replacing every wire in that car with a new harness is less than 2 grand. Also take into account that the electrical connections in a GM car are all waterproof connections. Also take into account that Ive been driving the car for a year with no issues and it puts down 350/360 to the wheels with nothing but exhaust and a tune thru a stock A4. Also take into account this is no ******* V6 Firebird, its a 1 of 24 SOM Firehawk, and I wouldnt even insult someone with a V6 Bird by offering that to them unless thats what they asked for. Stick with your Mustang. 'Nuff said

The shell alone is worth more than $5k. I'll stick up for the guy that to me a $5k offer would be very insulting and just ludicrous to even post. If he is looking in the $17k range why would you even try $5k? Come on, get real man. And just because you are a mod doesn't mean you have those supernatural powers to sway people into lowering their price of more than 60%

I don't think the same rule goes for the Texas forum but...It should be that every thread starter wether in the "For Sale" sections or any forum should post an asking price (whatever the amount, its their vehicle).

ALL OFFERS from ANYONE (not just the mod that made an offer) should be kept to PMs..

It would probably keep the clutter on these threads down and keep the arguments private where they belong.

Just an idea...Good luck on the sale of the Hawk.

Your right, I shouldve started that way, I figured most everyone on the forum knows of this car by now, its caused quite a stir since Ive had it. Most dont agree with having a car thats spent time underwater, its a sentimental thing for me, I spent 9 years on a sub.

The car runs great and I get compliments wherever I go, theres got to be someone out there who wants it and will take care of it. Any reasonable offer will be entertained. Collin 817-681-2155 I work odd hours so if I dont pic up, leave a message.

i have a totally newb question so pardon my ignorance.

but when i bought my 2002 T/A WS6 it was loaded out with an m6 and just about every option you could ask for with a clear title and 15k miles on it. i payed 18.5k

You are asking around 17k for nearly the same car that has been totaled that has had massive amounts of flood damage done to it dosen't seem hardly fair. Which would make the overall resell value of the car worthless unless you found someone who really wanted it.

Now I am not being a jerk, i am just curious of what a firehawk is and what makes it worth so much? because i think the car looks awesome!!

TTT

you may get better results By changing the heading above to "Firehawk forsale instead of what you have now.,

Icy thread. Hate to hear of your situation. I have been there as I had a boat wreck once and had to pay for a surgery and didn't have insurance. I had over 40k in the boat and was lucky to sell it for 20k after it was submerged.
One thing to consider is values of what banks will loan on vehicles. I have heard that banks will only loan 50% of the normal value of a car if it has a salvage title. Not saying that is what the car is worth but it can have an affect on the selling price.
By the way I have an 02 SS Camaro with 20k miles and a salvage title.
I agree with Justin-post an ad in the for sale section with Firehawk for sale.
Good luck.

Ok "brother", then he goes on to say how successful he is with his wife and kid and house.

Like I said before, if you've got a problem please stop cluttering his "Sale thread" and shoot me a PM, its not a difficult concept.

"JMO".

Interesting thread. Sorry I can't take the car off your hands but my prayers are with you as you decide how to handle your back problems. Hope all comes out okay.

everyone makes low ball offers. Who cares if he made a $5k offer. Usually if someone low ***** me. I dont care. A simple "no thanks" DOES work. Dont take the 5k offer has an "insult". who cares. On a side note. I personally wouldnt be able to find the justification to pay $17k on a car that was under water for 2 days. Its not worth the risk. The title is tarnished and for the cars entire life it will plague its resell value/insurance etc.
