Default Ported Fast intake with stock heads????

Well.... my big question is- if I got a ported fast intake, would the porting be worthless without ported heads? i plan on just getting full intake and full exhaust, so I will have stock unported heads to line up with the ported Fast intake.
Would the exhaust ports of the intake be WAY to big for stock heads, kinda like a square fiting into a circle???

Wouldn't be worth the money for porting, the car cammed? Intakes don't have exhaust ports, unless I am totaly out of the loop.

He is saying would the EXIT port of the intake be to big for the ENTRANCE of the heads in the intake side of combustion. Personally I think it boils down to money on whether or not its worth it. For the price of your intake you could have picked up twice as much with a good set of heads(depending on your heads: ls1, ls2/6). So no I do not think it is worth it to answer your question. I think the heads would be a bottle neck.

You need a good set of heads or your intake and throttle will not flow correctly you will be wasting your time and your money sell the intake and throttle and buy you a good set of ported heads. The heads will open your engine up for endless possibilities.

I would definately recommend getting heads first. IMO Ported fast intakes arent nessecary on a 346, they tend to do much better on something like a 408 which is moving a lot more air. Dont get me wrong you will definately pick up some power, but i don't think the ported intake is used to its full potential on a stock cube motor. I could be wrong, but thats just what I have seen in my experiences.

Alright, LS6 intake it is then.... and yes dubs6 is right about what I was trying to say. Also... what do you guys think about the TTS headers? What would be a good price for some?

Pointless?? I would say yes and no.

Unless you have real good flowing heads that ported FAST is going to "Bottle neck" your heads

I would get it anyways cause you WILL see an increase of power but not nearly as much if you had ported heads.

But you can always get a set of nice ported heads later for a great flowing setup.

Yeh we are on the same page. If heads are in your future just skip the ls6 and go right to the FAST. That way when you do get heads you will see the full potential of the combonation. I got mine after I was full H/C and it was night and day over the ls6.
