Whether you filled up yesterday or tomorrow, they're still gonna get their money.

What a coincidence. I might work with him. I'm actually an employee of Halliburton, but I'm in the Marathon Oil Tower doing work with them. I work on the 39'th floor right now...just got moved up from 33.....ohhhhhh

LoL.. That is true.. its a bad situation for most.. and what sucks.. I hate this.. is I have a lot of friends that work on the platforms.. and they are out there for weeks.. and come home for one and then they go right back out.. well hurricane season is coming up..

Just promise me you wont go out there lol.. and were good..

buy stock in the oil/gas energy businesses. When oil prices go up, you make money.

Not using gas for a day or two would hurt them a tinnnnnyyyy bit... not simply not filling up for a day. I mean.. you're still using their product... it's when you stop using their product will it hurt them. But like everyone else, you have to get to work

I've done that. Actually, the company I work for gave me some shares as a gift in 2004. The stocks have tripled in value since then. The stocks mature in Sept this year. Then, more mods...and a new truck...

I was over at Marathon last week. They have a really nice view on 40.

The only gas boycott that could possibly work is boycotting Citgo.

I like how this is compeletly our own fault and we try and blame it on someone else - anyone else - even when it doesn't make a bit of difference.

Because the lack of refining is pushing gas prices, all we have to do is use less gas in total for an extended period of time (more than a day or week) to bring prices down. Usually though prices are up on crude oil prices, and there is nothing to do about that but find more, since if we magically stopped buying crude, some other country would buy it up and the market price would be unaffected.

Sucks to be a price taker doesn't it?

Get a beater that gets 30+mpg and/or start carpooling. Take a drive around a major city and look at how many people are driving by themselves in SUVs and pickup trucks. Also increasing demand/consumption is the proliferated use of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks/diesels, Hummers, etc for commuting . Apparantly, its cool to drive a huge car with a thirsty engine and huge fuel capacity.

Just say no to gas!

Well. Since I also work in this field so to speak, Honestly there are not enough refineries to keep up with supply and demand, our biggest problem on the subject. And second of all, there is no shortage of oil or natural gas, or water in the world. Natural gas and oil and gasoline for that matter is a traded stock. Investors have to do with the price of gas at the pump going up or down, nothing else!!!!!!!!! I know this will lose people so I will explain. If you bought one barrel of oil at $50, and 2 weeks later you still have that one barrel and the price of oil per barrel is now $40, you still have to sell it at a high price to make a profit to buy more. EVERYTHING except drugs, are traded in the stock exchange. Sorry but I just had to set everything out there.
