Cant Take Stock Decarbon Off?!!

Default Cant Take Stock Decarbon Off?!!

One side is (13/16" side) secure and the other side(22mm) is spinning like its coming off but when i take the socket off to see whats going and the nut has not moved positions..

help me please.

I assume you're talking about the top bolt on the top shock mount. Soak it with Free-All or some other type of penetrating oil. Then hit it with a impact wrench. Those nuts tend to be a pain in the *** because water gets in there and rusts it. You may even have to hold the shaft if you're not worried about it.

Front or back? Based on those socket sizes, I'm guessing back.

If so...

Between the plate on the rearend where the shock mounts and the rubber bushing, there is a flat spot. Make sure you have a wrench SOLID on that flat spot. It's probably going to be a tight fit, especially with the nut still torqued down.

Impact with socket on the back nut, open end wrench on the "front" (in front of the shock mount tabs that are welded onto the housing)

fixed, stripped right in the middle...broke it off!


bilsteins are on with bmr springs in the rear

Ironic I just dealt with 2 of my window motor bolts that were stripped like this. It seems the outsourced GM pile of **** that I used last time came with soft *** metal bolts. I wound up cutting them off with a dremel diamond disc.

When you put them back on, be sure to cover it up with grease so it doesn't happen a 2nd time.
