Weird sound on startup

Weird sound on startup So about two months ago my lifters failed and i had to get new ones.
Now sometimes on start up for the first time that day it will make a brief failed lifter noise (that flap,flap,flap). Then when i go to back out of the garage the engine will sound really deep as if i did some mods to it or something.
Does anyone have any clue as to why it does this?
It seems to only do this when the car is cold.
