So about two months ago my lifters failed and i had to get new ones.

Now sometimes on start up for the first time that day it will make a brief failed lifter noise (that flap,flap,flap). Then when i go to back out of the garage the engine will sound really deep as if i did some mods to it or something.

Does anyone have any clue as to why it does this?

It seems to only do this when the car is cold.

 

Ls1?? If so, it sounds like Piston slap. My TA did it bad !!! Sounds almost like a knock till it warms up......My buddies truck(5.3) does it also
