Are you by chance going up to san marcos next week for college? Just wondering, I dont know anybody with an fbody in the area. I go to college in Seguin, just 20 min away...

Glad to see you got the problem figured out.

no i just went up there this past weekend for a friends 21st birthday party. kinda wierd too, she lives right by Camaro street i'm here in pasadena until i'm done with the audio engineering program. im going to try to make it a habit to go out to san marcos though, i have a lot of friends that go to school at Texas State. another wierd thing is i only saw one camaro ss up there and a handful of the 96 body style mustangs. kind of a big disappointment!

If those are headers (which I think they are), they can be mig welded fairly easily. I could tackle that in a couple of minutes if the headers were off the car. In place I could tack the pipe down, but could not make it pipe tight. Drop me a PM if you can't find a better solution. By the way, I've had zero luck with JB weld actually holding 2 pieces together. Maybe others have better luck. I would at least tack it in place to hold it, then JB weld to seal it.
Let me know if I can be of assistance.

yeah the JB weld held for about 2 minutes. so no luck on that part. she's sounding like **** at the moment, and not running all that well. but i will be taking the car into lonestar muffler tomorrow to get the issue resolved. hopefully they won't have to bother removing the header and can just tig weld it while something holds it together. hopefully this will resolve my SES light issue, if not, i suppose i will have to have my mechanic take a look at the car and have him try to resolve the problem. sucks having the car with the ls1 edit for a couple days and then having this crap happen. especially when you have all these damn mustangs around trying to rev up at ya!

Oh that's just the computer telling you that you only have 8 more mph before LS1 takes you back to the future. Perfectly normal.

have the codes checked. It might be throwing another code to clue you in on wtf is going on.

the only problem with that is that the SES light is only flashing at a certain MPH instead of a certain RPM range. when im at idle and below 75 mph there aren't any codes being thrown at all

They'll be able to check the code history.

You might want to take it to a speed shop and have them check it out on a dyno so they can see it in action. They can tell you if your AFR is getting out of whack.
